1.) What is Web Hosting?
All
domain names like www.yoursite.com have to be hosted in order
to be seen on the internet. For a small fee, we provide you with
the server space via an online account. Once activated, all you
have to do is upload your web files to our server. Web hosting
services keep your site up and running live 24 hours per day as
long as your account is active.
2.
)Can I cancel the hosting
account at any time?
Yes.
We strive to give our customers the best services possible. If
you have encountered a problem, we hope you will give us the chance
to solve any issues you are experiencing. However, if at anytime
you are ready to stop the hosting of your website, you simply
request cancellation 7 days prior to your billing date and your
account will be closed. Any remaining time is non-refundable.
3.) Are there any restrictions in regard to what content I can
host on your server?
Web
Jett hosting accounts may be used for most legal commercial and
non-commercial purposes. Web Jett does however specifically prohibit
the use of our servers for the following:
* IRC bots
or servers
* the dissemination of SPAM
* Inflammatory or Hate sites
* adult or sexual content which is illegal in the United States
of America
* providing tools for or acting as a launching point for attacks
on network services internal and external
* hosting illegal content including but not limited to illegal
software (WAREZ), illegal MP3s and other media, etc
Web Jett &
Assoc. will be the sole arbiter as to what constitutes a violation
of this provision & will be the sole arbiter as to what constitutes
a violation of this provision.
SPAM:
The use of Web Jett's servers for unsolicited mass mailings or
inappropriate Usenet postings by any customer is strictly forbidden.
Violations of this policy will result in immediate account termination
without warning, and the customer will be held legally responsible
for the damages to Web Jett or it's service providers both monetary
and in reputation. The use of any other service to make such a
mailing or posting, with any reference to Web Jett or it's service
providers services (including but not limited to mailboxes, autoresponders,
and Web pages), shall also be grounds for account termination
as described above. Malicious or threatening email is also prohibited.
We reserve the right to immediately deactivate your use of our
service if we discover such activity. Further, you agree to indemnify
and hold us harmless from any claim resulting from your use or
distribution of electronic mail services through the service provided
through this Agreement. Anyone using our services for spamming
will be immediately subject to a $250 cleanup/network abuse fee.
Interactive 'chat'
applications:
"Chat" applications may not be hosted
on Web Jett's servers. For the purposes of this policy, a "chat"
system is defined as a Web site or portion thereof that encourages
visitors to post messages that are immediately viewable by other
users, in order to engage in "real-time" conversation
with other visitors at the same site. Java based "chat"
clients which connect with chat servers not hosted by Web Jett
are however permissible since they do not impact Web Jett web
server loading.
This policy has
been instituted due to the rather severe impact "chat"
scripts impose on a web server. An impact that if not restricted
would adversely affect other accounts co-resident on the server.
If you have specific needs to host a "chat" application,
you are encouraged to contact our sales department to discuss
alternative hosting options we may be able to offer.
Adult oriented sites:
Adult-oriented sites, designed for entertainment
or commercial purposes, are not allowed on Web Jett's servers.
Forbidden sites include those that provide access to pornographic
materials, whether for free or for payment, regardless of whether
adult verification is used or not.
This policy has
been instituted due to the disproportionately high traffic volume
an adult oriented site generates. Such traffic patterns could
unfairly bog down the web server to the detriment of other clients
co-resident on the server. If you have a special need to host
such a high traffic web site, contact our skilled sales staff,
who in conjunction with our support staff, can hook you up with
an affordable alternate hosting solution through another adult
hosting service.
Server-side processes:
The installation or operation of any stand-alone,
unattended server-side process (daemons) on Web Jett servers,
is forbidden, except by special arrangement. This specifically
includes IRC bots, clients, and other IRC-related processes. Use
of such a process to accept network connections, for any purpose
whatsoever, is expressly forbidden. Violation of this policy will
result in immediate account termination without warning.
Resource usage:
CGI scripts and programs are subject to resource
limitations as set forth by this policy.
CPU Time Used -
30 seconds
Number of Open Files - 32
Number of Simultaneous Processes - 8
Cron job interval - No one scheduled job should run more often
than once every 2 hours
Repeated usage of a disproportionately large percentage of CPU
time by any hosted site is forbidden. Violators will be warned
of such violations and shall be required to remedy the situation
within 48 hours of notification. Repeat offenders shall face the
potential of account suspension without warning.
Unacceptable content:
The following content may not be hosted on Web
Jett's servers. This includes web pages including links and/or
references to the following prohibited content:
Pirated
software (illegal duplication, distribution of licensed
software)
Illegally distributed electronic music, including, but
not limited to, illegally distributed MP3 files.
Hacking tools, programs, or archives
'Warez' sites (sites featuring 'cracks' to licensed
software)
Adult oriented sites (see separate policy pertaining
to this)
Violators of this policy may be subject to account termination
as determined by the severity of the offense. Web Jett shall be
the sole arbiter as to what constitutes a violation of this policy
and what action should be taken.
4.) Mailing list usage:
The standard mailing list features
provided in conjunction with a Web Jett hosting account shall
be used for low volume mailing lists only. Low volume is defined
as lists with no more than 50 subscribers and no more than 50
posts to the list per day. Usage levels beyond this are discouraged
unless prior arrangements have been made with Web Jett. Accommodation
of higher volume lists may be limited and may come at additional
cost. Web Jet's mailing list usage policy is aimed at protecting
the server from excessive loading due to high mailing list volume.
These measures are necessary to ensure the quality of web hosting
services on any server are not compromised.
5.)
Add-on POP3 mailbox usage:
The additional POP3 mailboxes provided
with some Web Jett's web hosting accounts are to be used only
for members of your organization. Such mailboxes are not to be
used for providing a free email service to the Internet at-large,
nor are they to be used for resale purposes. All bandwidth and
storage consumed by these additional mailboxes is charged against
the bandwidth and storage quotas set for your level of web hosting
account.
6.)
What methods of payment does Web Jett & Assoc. accept
We accept all major credit cards (must have confirmed address) and
offer recurring payments via PayPal for Monthly, Quarterly, Bi-Annually
& Annual intervals. We will also accept Echeck via PayPal (could
take up to 4 days to clear) or a personal check. If a personal check
is returned to us NSF, we do charge a $25.00 service charge.
7.)
If I register a domain
through Web Jett & Assoc, will I be listed as its owner?
Any
public domain registration that you purchase through us is owned
by you. Our Registar is an ICANN Accredited Registrar that is
used to register the domain on your behalf. Upon purchase you
will be given a password and how to access the settings for your
domain name. If you are not prepared to handle the purchase and
annual renewal of a domain name, we can handle it for you for
a small fee.

How do I change from
my current hosting account?
Once you open your hosting
account with us, you will need to point your Domain name servers
to the Web Jett web Servers.

9.)
How quickly will my account be setup and activated?
All accounts are
setup within 24 hours of receiving the initial order. You will
receive a welcome email giving you your login name and password
and your account will then be active and available for use. If
you were also registered for a new domain name, as soon as your
DNS (Domain Name Servers) or propagated by the network which usually
takes 24-72 hours, you will be able to upload your site.
10.
)How Do I access the CPanel for changes to my hosting
settings?
The CPanel control
panel is accessed by pointing a web browser to http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel.
This is the server on which your account is hosted. This is where
you can create email addresses, forwarders and other options associated
with your account.. The username and password required to access
this control panel is the main username and password assigned
to the client and provided in your welcome email.

How do I create / access my webmail?
CREATE A NEW
EMAIL ACCOUNT
Log into "CPanel"
by pointing a web browser to http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel
and go to the category "E-Mail".
Click "Manage Accounts".
Create a new email such as; "whatever@yourdomain.com"
and give it a password.
ACCESS
EXISTING EMAIL ACCOUNT
To access email by webmail, enter this address in your browser:
www.yourdomain.com/webmail. (can
also be access from CPanel)
1.) Enter your user name & password
when prompted
2.) Click:"read mail using Horde"
3.) On the next screen click "LOG IN"
4.) Once in the mail control panel, look to the left navigation
bar
5.) Click the + symbol to expand the details of your account
6.) Click additional + symbol(s) to find your different INBOXES

to view all mail in that account
Click
NEW MESSAGE to COMPOSE a new Email.
You can also go
to "forwarders" and have
that email address forwarded to your personal email address.
The number of emails you are allowed is determined by which hosting
account you open.

You can also automatically
configure Outlook Express to handle
that account for you. Just go to the "Mail"
in "CPanel" and select
"Automatically Configure Outlook Express"
next to that account. Your email must be set-up as noted above
before choosing this option.

Can I Publish my site with Microsoft Frontpage?
Absolutely.
We can enable the Front Page Extensions for you or you can do
it from your own control panel.
13.)
How do I upload my files to the server?
You will need to point
your Domain name servers to the Web Jett web Servers.
They are:

NS2.WEBJETT.COM
If
you have purchased a new domain name, it may take up to 48 hours
to be propagate by the network. As soon as you see the Web Jett
& Assoc. "parked page", you can then upload your
site.
When you Publish your site to
http://www.domainname.com
you will be asked for the USER
NAME and PASSWORD
that we supplied you in your welcome email
letter for your new account.
Once you upload
your site, you will need to delete the "parked
page" that exists on your site. YOUR home page that
you will be uploading is called "index.htm".
The parked page is called "index.html".
Navigate to www.yourdomain.com/cpanel.
Log into "Cpanel" with your name and password. Open
"Files". Open the file
"public_html". Find the file
"index.html" and click on the
folder icon next to it to select it. Click
Delete. You
will now see your web site home page.
14.)
How redundant are the servers you use?
Both
your personalized nameservers and our anonymous nameservers are
hosted on two separate servers operating on completely different
networks. This ensures the highest availability DNS service. Your
domain names will always be visible.
Some hosts skimp
and host both of your nameservers on one server. If that one server
goes down, all of your DNS services would go offline, and no one
would find your site. Our redundant configuration is not prone
to such problems.
15.)
Do you offer ASP as a scripting solution?
ASP
is a scripting solution created by Microsoft and thus most fully
supported by Windows based servers. Our servers are running RedHat
Linux and thus do not include support for ASP. We are evaluating
the addition of Windows based hosting solutions in the near future,
so be sure to check back soon if ASP is important to you.

Do you support JSP and Java Servlets?
We
support JSP and Java Servlets on select servers. Be sure to specify
your needs for this technology when ordering to ensure you are
allocated to one of the servers in our JSP capable farm.
PHP is supported
on ALL servers. PHP includes all standard modules and add-ons
and marries wonderfully with MySQL. PHP is the preferred server-side
scripting solution.
17.)
Are any backup services provided by Web Jett & Assoc?
All
data on all hosting services are backed up on daily, weekly and
monthly rotations. All backups are maintained both on-site and
off-site. These measures help to greatly protect your sites and
data from disaster. You are still strongly encouraged however
to maintain reasonable backups of your own critical data, where
possible. Web Jett & Assoc. is in no way responsible for the
data on your site. You should always keep a backup of all data.

All
reseller accounts are hosted in a state-of-the-art carrier grade
data center. This high tech facility boasts many impressive features
including multiple and redundant Gigabit links to diverse backbone
providers. Combined with BGP4 routing protocol, you can be confidant
your site will be up and accessible to the web. This cutting-edge
routing technology maximizes the benefit of our connections to
these diverse providers, to ensure visitors to your site have
the easiest time connecting to your site. Most web hosting providers
depend on lines from a single provider which can be easily crippled
by the inevitable routing and congestion problems on the net.
With our diverse multiple points of entry, we are much less susceptible
to these types of service problems.

What server hardware is Web Jett & Assoc. using?
The
server arrangement uses state-of-the-art, highly optimized Pentium
4 and Xeon based servers. Each server is equipped with plenty
of RAM and very lightly CPU loaded to ensure fast serving of your
content. Inside our server farm, we run a 100 Mbps switched Ethernet,
connecting finally to our high performance Cisco routers and our
multiple high speed pipes to the net. Our servers run RedHat Linux
and the award-winning Apache HTTP server software.

How do I close my hosting
account?
If
you choose to close your hosting account, please send an email
to support@webjett.com
7 billing cycle date and we will cancel your account at your request.
Prepaid hosting is non-refundable but your site will stay live
until the end of your billing period unless you request otherwise.

What browsers are supported on your site?
We always recommend using the latest
version of either Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) or Mozilla
Firfox which have been fully released and are not in Beta or Pre-Release.
We do our best to support these main browsers in their version
4 and above, although we recommend using IE 5 and above or Firefox
1.0.7.

Do you offer a CGI-BIN, and if so... what is a CGI-BIN?
YES,
every account comes with a local CGI-BIN. A CGI-BIN is used to
store CGI scripts. These scripts are used to generate online order
forms, guestbooks, shopping carts, counters, etc. Every account
has a Guestbook, Message Board, Form Mail and Counter pre-installed.

Will I be able to run my own CGI scripts?
Yes,
you can install your own CGI scripts.
24.)
Will you place any ads on my site?
No!
Web Jett & Associates does not place advertisements on your
web site. No banners, no pop-ups, etc.
25.) Do
you offer a money back guarantee?
Yes! You should
be satisfied with your web host. If for any reason you are not
satisfied within your first 7 days of hosting. Cancel for a complete
refund. Set-up, domain registration & design fees are non-refundable.
26.) Liability:
Web Jett & Assoc. is in no
way responsible for down time either resulting from a users actions,
or natural fluctuations in internet consistency. Web Jett &
Assoc. will however, do everything within it's power to assure
that each and every client site is up as consistently as possible.
Web Jett & Assoc. is in no way responsible for the data on
your site. We do keep backups of every site we host but we do
not guarantee the usability of our backups. You should always
keep a backup of all data.
27.)
Public Nature of Internet:
Please understand that all information
submitted on the Hosting Account shall be considered publicly
accessible. Important and private information should be protected/backed
up by you. For example, we are not liable for protection or privacy
of electronic mail or other information transferred through the
Internet or any other network provider that you may use. A good
rule to remember is "nothing is anonymous" on the internet.
Registered Domain
names will publicly list your full name, address, phone number
and email address. We do offer
Private Registration which will mask your personal
information with a proxy service.
28.)
Misc: Chargebacks/Arbitration/Attorney's Fees/Returned Checks
There is a $50 fee for any illegitimate
chargebacks placed against us. Any illegitimate chargebacks or
threatened illegitimate chargebacks are grounds for immediate
account cancellation.
If Web Jett &
Assoc. collects any payment due at law or through an attorney
at law or under advice there from or through a collection agency,
or if Web Jett & Assoc. prevails in any action to which the
Customer and Web Jett & Assoc. are parties, Customer will
pay all costs of collection, arbitration and litigation, including,
without limitation, all court costs and Web Jett & Assoc.
reasonable attorneys' fees.
If any check is
returned for insufficient funds Web Jett & Assoc. may impose
a processing charge of $25.00.
